For each successful au pair applicant, we take great effort in providing a suitable host family. Through our program “Au Pairs in Spain” we match carefully screened host families and au pairs by a customer driven streamlined matching procedure. Home visits, interviews, and cross-references, are procedures taken to ensure both parties are compatible and suitable for this cultural exchange experience.
Host families are fully aware that this is a cultural exchange program and wish to welcome the au pairs into their family so as to learn from each other. The host family will help train the au pairs in learning various routines in their home and by this means, learn the Spanish lifestyle and culture naturally. When the au pair returns to their native country, because of this program, we hope a positive impression of Spain and its people can be conveyed.
Equally, the Spanish host families open their homes so as to learn from the au pair their native language and culture and teach it to their children. This is the host family’s main reason for opening their home up to an au pair. They are not interested in cheap domestic help.
A majority of families looking for au pairs live in Madrid, however placements can be arranged in large cities throughout Spain. Over the summer, most families in Madrid travel for at least part if not all of the holiday to another region of Spain, usually the coastal regions of Catalonia or Andalucia or to the mountains. This could provide a wonderful opportunity to see more of Spain.
